Ian Usher, the man who auctioned his life on eBay, has made a loss on the deal.

Usher put his house and all his possessions up for auction, along with introductions to his friends and a two-week trial period at his job.

But the winning bid of $384,000 was lower than the value of his house.

"I guess I'm a little bit disappointed at the final price. I'd hoped it to be a little higher than that," Usher told Nine Network television. "But I am committed to selling and moving on and making a fresh start."

Usher confirmed that he will honour the deal. Bidding initially reached over $2m, but the bids were identified as hoaxes.

The former carpet salesman now plans to more onto a new project of completing 100 life goals in 100 weeks, and has set up a website to publicise the attempt.

The goals include crossing America on Route 66 (now Interstate 40), getting a six-pack stomach and joining the mile high club.
